I’d understand a specialized setup for gaming where you are only using certain keys - so you only need that part of the keyboard, but for any real work – you’d only see it in movies and TV shows when they are trying to indicate that this character has “serious” tech skills.
Look, if you grew up not learning QWERTY or only had access to split keyboards, or put in years of practice then there would be a flow and muscle memory to use them (like courtroom stenographers who use the specialty typewriters). But most of us average folks can’t re-wire our brains for this.
