does this have a dvd reader?

mine came with (1) DVD reader/burner, I have extras out of my other computers, but the bottom slot is for a harddrive, NOT for another DVD burner/writer.  I put one in but just have to leave the bottom slot open and the open tab of course does not work.

does this computer have a PCI Express slot for graphic card ?

yes it does have a PCI express x16 slot, but I didn't instal or even try to install a video card. I returned this pc and went with an HP model instead. There were a lot of problems starting with the box being completely soaked in some sort of oil and a missing stick of ram. should have had 1 gb of memory but only had 512mb. keyboard didn't work and the mouse didn't come in the box. if you type in Gateway DX4380G-UW308 into google and do a search you'll find a lot of people with the same problems. I would suggest buying another pc and IMHO not a gateway or dell. We had 3  of these shipped out and each one had a problem and got returned

Would Anyone Recommend This To A Small Budget First Time Gaming PC buyer? :)

I don't do a lot of gaming, but I have been very satisfied with this machine.  It runs at 3+ gigahertz, boots up quickly and runs multiple applications simultaneously.  I was afraid of Windows 8, but it really isn't that bad.   I'm glad that I bought this computer.

Question 4

Is there a printer port on this? If not, does it have open PCI slots for an LPT card? My CadCam has a hardware lock which goes into the printer port. Thanks

Hi I bought this computer and it won't allow windows updates and I can not use the windows store on the apps page ? It just keeps saying there are error codes. any help would be appreciated. Thank's ,  David .

Go to your desktop and right click anywhere on the desktop. Click "personalize." click "control panel home" in the upper left corner of the window that appears. click "system and security."  you should see an icon and "windows update" 4 down from the top of the list.  under "windows update" click "check for updates." if it finds some updates click on the text that reads "(#) important updates are available."  at the bottom right of this screen click "install." after your updates are installed you can always go back to "windows update" and make sure your windows update is set to automatically update, preferable at a time you computer will be on.  the store will probably work once your computer has been updated, though it may ask you to upgrade to windows 8.1 at that point.

Can the video card be replaced in this or is it built into the motherboard?

I am not sure because I bought this for a friend and I have actually never seen the unit. Even if it has onboard video you can always add a video card and disable the onboard video.

Can anyone tell me what type the on board CPU clock battery is for this? I need to drive a long distance to install and would like to get one before I get to my Mom's.

Replacing a CPU clock battery? The average life on those is almost 10years and that computer doesnt look that old. Are you sure its bad and not something else?

Beware, no graphic cards seem compatible with this pc. I tried 3 different ones.
