Can the heat sinks be removed ?

They can but it's a matter of should you. These aren't the highest quality ram so there's a good risk of accidental breakage. Most likely warranty will be void.  I've been pretty luck with geil so far. Bought two sets of different ram and both worked perfectly, others not so much.

Can these fit in any computer case?

They should fit any case. The problem will most definitely be your cpu cooler. If you're running stock cooler then yes it'll fit. If you are running a big tower case check to see if you can adjust fan height. If you can move the fan up you should be able to clear them.
