Question 1

I understand these are pwm connectors but will they connect/work on a 3-pin header?? I want connect two 140mm fans to my 3-pin case header and leave my CPU pwm header for my H110 pump (smart fan control disabled via bios).

Yes they will. I bought a set of the GEILD Solutions PWM Y cables and they fit on the three pin header of my Asus P8P67 deluxe mother board. At first it looked like the connector might be too wide but they fit perfectly. I bought two sets, so I could add  four Cougar case fans to my In Win Dragonrider computer case three months ago, and I haven' had any problems.

i have 3 connectors for each fan - you show 4 in the picture?
should I look for 3?

I purchased this item to configure a push pull configuration on a cooler aster seidon 240mm fan. I purchased and additional two 240mm fans and used this connector or adaptor since the MSI z87-GD65 motherboard didn't have enough on board power pins for this. I had the Cooler Master HAF 932 blue edition tower.

The system was perfect. However, the additional fans was a bit overkill bc the system was never hot once. Or never over overheated under all stress tests and games.

Whatever purpose you have, the item you have in mind is good and it will serve you well.
