Whats the size of the mouse? Is it too small for hands?

It isn't too small to use comfortably. When I use it, my palm rests on the mousepad.

Did you try the following?
Reboot the computer.
Make sure the switch is on and the USB device is connected.
Put in a fresh battery.
Try a different USB port.  If one port died, it might have been damaged by bumping the USB receiver.  I recommend removing it when traveling.
