is this a pannini maker?

Yes, you could use this as a Panini maker, but in my opinion you would get better results from a machine designed for that purpose. This grill is not described as a Panini maker on the box or on the operator's manual. As others have noted this grill is so light that it wouldn't put much weight on the sandwich.  Also, your sandwich would also have to be fairly thin as the maximum width for the plates to be roughly parallel is about 1.75 inches. That said, this is a great value for a single to double serving grill.

Question 2

How many watt's is this GR10B and does both upper and lower grills heat up, also is there an on and off switch or do you have to unplug it to shut it off?

I bought this for my sister,  I  don't have documentation for it, I do own one of them though, yes both plates heat up and you do unplug it to turn it off, can't beat this price..

are the plates removeable?

I don't think so but I think that there is a more expensive grill with that feature. So far, I've just carefully hand washed my grill.

And I have to say that I really like my  grill but all I've made so far are hamburgers.
