Awesome grill... 10/3/2011 8:10:27 PM

Pros: Nice size for a small kitchen.

Cons: No negatives --works great.

Overall Review: It's small --good for a couple chops, burgers. Ideal for just making a few items.

GF Mini Grill 10/1/2011 4:45:19 PM

Pros: Does what it says it will do-fat drips away from the food.

Cons: Pain to clean.

Overall Review: OK.

So, I've been wondering about the GF Grills for a long time. I thought that their popularity would have died out by now.

The fact that they have been available for since the '90's and are still going strong, finally prompted me to purchase this mini grill.

I only wish I had purchased one sooner! This grill is great--it really works. It will cook two 1/4# burgers at a time, and half a package of sausage/hot dogs at once.

Burgers come out much drier than usual, so I'll be switching to a higher fat content hamburger to compensate (don't worry--the extra fat will drain away).

Steaks come out with great grill marks.

CAUTION: The cooking times listed in the owner's manual/recipe guide will result in charcoal briquets. Use 2/3 to 3/4 of the listed cooking time.

Overall, I really like my GF Grill, and wish I had purchased one a long time ago.

Superb value on sale 9/22/2011 11:57:08 AM

Pros: Compact - great for 1-2 people
Cooking quality was great
True crisp marks on burgers
Drains substantial amounts of fat away

Cons: Cleaning - The lid when lifted will often let drippings fall 'behind' the bottom grill plate, which is irritating to clean. Also, as others mentioned, wished the plates were removable for easier cleaning. "Scrub each ridge" method required to clean, as high temps cause materials to burn onto the plate pretty thoroughly. -1 egg for minor cleaning inconvenience

Overall Review: Yes, cleaning it might be less than desired, however, for the fact that I purchased this for 16 dollars on sale, it was a steal. We purchase frozen pre-made vidalia onion burgers and if they had a smokey flavor, they'd taste like they were off the grill. Crisp texture on areas that are seared, tender insides. LOTS of fat drips off the products leaving burgers slightly dry but thats exactly how I like them.

PERFECT pick up for 1 or 2 people who hate to bust out pots and pans to cook. Small profile, thorough cooking, but, i can only fit 1 burger or 2 chix breasts on there at a time.

Lean mean fat Grillin machine 8/3/2011 10:03:50 PM

Pros: Does what it is supposed to do. My last one (family size) broke so I bought this one. Heats up quick and cooks the food like it should.

Cons: None

Good for indoor cooking 7/22/2011 9:01:58 PM

Pros: VERY DURABLE -mine is going on 10 years.
Small (will only cook 2-4 hamburgers at a time), works on any meat, veggies, and makes good grilled cheese
Easy to clean -especially while it's still warm (try wet paper towels).
The included spatula looks wimpy but is actually very effective.

Cons: Heavy, bun warmer will make things gooey if used while cooking food in the grill (the steam will get to the bun), the clip for the bun warmer lid broke (think remote control battery lid), have to tilt it to drain more grease when cooking hamburgers. Cleaning the ridges can be a chore but they are crucial to the operation of the grill.

Overall Review: I don't even remember where I got this model but it was about 10 years ago and it still works fine. The grilling surface is starting to discolor but hasn't gotten sticky yet. After years of fighting to clean this on the edge of the sink, I finally started putting it in the sink (with no standing water) and praying it with the flex hose. This works great and doesn't hurt the heating element at all -just make sure it's unplugged the whole time it's wet.

Cooks Like a Champ..Cleans Like a Wimp... 7/8/2011 11:36:09 AM

Pros: It's basically plug & play. Very quick to reach cooking temperature. It will have your meat sizzling within a matter of seconds. Unless you are making sliders, don't expect to be able to cook more than one patty or steak at a time. The bun warmer is a nice feature since I like my buns warm and soft. This was perfect for me to use at work as it is light and portable.

Cons: The cooking surfaces are not removeable so cleaning is time consuming and cumbersome. I wish they would design it so that the cooking plates can be removed for washing.

Overall Review: I know it was designed to be health conscious by draining away the fat drippings but I like my burgers and steak juicier that what this grill will produce. I wish the rear legs were adjustable so that the user can choose whether to cook in the drippings or have it drain depending on the user's preference.

Best Grill I've owned!! 5/3/2011 10:03:05 PM

Pros: Much better than the George Foreman GR0038W grill.
I've had both and this one surpasses the other!!
The most effective thing about this grill is the hinge!
Yes,... the hinge! This one's adjustable!!
No matter how relatively thick the meat is, it'll cook it evenly... even if there's a thick piece of bone in it, like pork chops!
Using the GR0038W grill, I find myself having to turn the meat to cook the other side -the part that the grill surface doesn't touch! Not with this grill! Because of the adjustable hinge, i'm able to lay the cover over the food evenly so that the entire surface is resting on the meat.
Keep in mind that that this grill is small. It's NOT supposed to feed a family of four!! Jeez, ppl!
If you want to feed your family and your neighbors all at once, then BUY A BIGGER GRILL!

Cons: Kinda heavy.
Cumbersome when cleaning.

Overall Review: It has a bun WARMER.
What is does NOT have is a bun TOASTER!
It 'warms' the bun, it doesn't 'toast' it.
That's what a 'toaster' is for.
