I have read (on the comment below and elsewhere) that the CPU on this board has compatibility issues between its integrated graphics and Linux.  This board, however, features a dedicated nVidia chip.  Will it still have these same compatibility issues despite this chip?

No longer.  The current Linux kernel and X-Windows packages are now able to see the on-board nvidia card which overrides the PowerVR graphics chipset.  I do not know why this was an issue previously.
