Will the thickness of this with heatsink on cause issues with the cover plate on the auros trx40 extreme MOBO? As it looks like the NVMe drives go under that plate

It was’t a problem.  You can take off the heat sink which comes with the product by tiny screws located on the side. It then fits perfectly on the aorus extreme MOBO.  The metal plate which goes over it functions as the new heat sink (per design of the mobo).

Is this Drive compatible with W10 Home being Installed on it?

My ASUS CrossFire ROG setup includes the GIGABYTE AORUS M.2 2TB and Force 2TB M.2. on PCI-E 4.  Windows 10 Pro is the OS.  The storage has been working fine for the past 4 months.  BIOS may be more important an issue than MS Windows in terms of using the capabilities of the GIGABYTE M.2 device.  Don't know why WIN 10 Home shouldn't support the device.  Hope this is helpful.

The heatsink feels loose, wiggles a bit after properly mounted.  Is this typical due to the layers of thermal cunductive material?

I would think not... When I had to remove mine to get it under the MOBO's built in heat sink it took an uncomfortable amount of force to detach.  It wasn't loose in the lightest.

Why is this so overpriced currently when much faster versions are coming out in a few months?

I'm currently assuming it's partially cause of the fancy schmancy Copper Heat Sink, partially cause of it being PCI-E 4.0, & partially cause it's a M.2 Drive... & put those all together & I think this is a pretty darn state of the art young model, & stuff like that always nukes the Wallet. ;)

(Honestly I think the strong thick Copper Heat Sink is the biggest contributor... compare & contrast if ya bought a M.2 Drive that does not come with a Heatsink & intended to put it into a M.2 Slot on the Motherboard that doesn't happen to come with its own Heatsink so ya gotta buy a separate 3rd Party one or risk the Drive answering to Heat Damage...)

will this fit in the 2019 razer blade stealth?

Probably not. I don’t have that laptop, but the heat sink is quite thick and makes this drive take up way more space than traditional M.2 drives.

Question 6

Concerned this will not fit in ROG Crosshair VIII Hero due to the motherboard bracket over the M.2 bay. Anyone had any experience with this?

In my Gigabyte board the cover is removable and is not used. The heatsink on the M.2 is way better than a mobo cover. Also there's usually included standoffs that can be inserted to accommodate the 2280 or other sizes.

Will this fit beneath/behind (on the underside) the motherboard? What are the height/depth dimensions? The motherboard I plan to use (AsRock X570 Phantom Gaming-ITX) only takes m.2 drives underneath on the bottom of the board

Sorry I cant answer your question exactly, but you can remove the heatsink easily with a small screwdriver in case it doesn't fit, its only 6 screws. It wouldn't fit on my asrock boards heatsink.

can you overclock these SSDs? hence the copper heatsink to assist in that process? can these be clocked to go 7500mb/s read and write?
