Would 1 stick of ram work inside this motherboard, if so what slot?

One stick of RAM will work on any motherboard but to take advantage of dual channel memory it's generally recommended to go with two sticks, or 4, and up. The ram slots are colored with their corresponding slot, so I would recommend finding the dual version of whatever you want to get, i.e. Getting 2 x 4gb sticks if you want 8gbs of ram and use them in dual channel. Just match the colors. If you're just going to use one stick anyway, put the stick in the slot farthest from the center of the board.

Question 2

Ummm, this MB says it's compatible with i7, so I bought it.  Processor is not even close to fitting the socket.  What am I missing here?

So when you buy a motherboard, you need to make sure it's the correct SOCKET. Most i7s are fine, but you need to make sure it's an 1151 socket.

Question 3

Can i use ddr4 2400 with out OC  with a Kaby Lake ?  The specs were confusing. I know that this is not a MB for overclocking a CPU.

Yes you can. I am using 2400 ram with this same mobo and a g4560 processor. you have to enable XMP in the BIOS, but that can be done after installing the ram and booting up. doesnt affect anything but you wont get 2400 speed until you do this.

Can I plug USB 2.0 into the 3.0? Because most my devices are 2.0 :/

Seeing how DDR3L is not DDR4, I cannot say for sure but would say no. The slots are somewhat different between the two types of ram.

Yes it supports Kaby Lake out of the box.  It booted with my Pentium G4600 using the original (F1) BIOS.

How many fans can you plug into this MB?

From gigbyte's website, one CPU fan and one system fan. The system fan connector is advertised as high-current, so you could probably put a few fans to that port with a splitter, or just get an adapter to standard molex if you want more fans. Note that this may limit (depending on the adapter) the ability for bios or other onboard software to control fan speed, in which case the fans will generally run faster or at full speed all the time, which I personally prefer anyway but some people prefer quiet or less energy usage when possible (like a 1A fan uses much power compared to everything else on a 500W psu).

Newegg will not let me post links to newegg product pages for the splitters, so just search fan splitter in internal cables.

Can I use a Ryzen with it?

The important piece there is the cpu socket. This board has LGA 1151. A quick search for ryzen does not tell me which socket(s) they have. See the specs on the specific processor.
However, it seems one of the main selling points for ryzen is the number of pcie3 lanes. This board has only one pcie3 x16 connector (16 lanes max), 2 pciex1 connectors (1 lane each), and one m.2 connector (4 lanes), which means you're wasting the other 42 lanes, even if you fill this board. That processor would be more fully used in a 3-way sli or similar, which would need a board with more connectors. That said, while not optimal, it should work, provided the sockets match.

Question 10

Will this board only provide power to a single fan? How can I power 3-5 (case has that many!)

It only has one spot to plug in a case fan, I imagine you could use a splitter to power more.  I have two case fans on mine, one plugged into this motherboard and one plugged directly into the power supply so it just runs constantly.
