You can by 4 pin molex converter to directly connect fans with PSU.

It depends on what you're going to use it for and how much processing power you need.  Any of the Intel LGA1150 CPUs should work.  I used an Intel Core i5-4460 for the work desktop PCs I built with this motherboard because I needed them to be able to run some heavier database stuff.  They're performing rather well, as I expected them to with an i5.

If you're building a PC for internet browsing and word processing, you'd be fine with a less expensive i3 CPU.

will a 2 slot vid card fit this without blocking MB items?

With a full size video card that uses two slots, you will lose one SATA connection and one PCI Express x1 slot, and the SATA connection may or may not be too hard to use depending on your video card, it was with the Nvidia GTX 460 I am using now.

does this support 6th gen intel processors?

No, the Intel 6th Gen processors use a 1151 socket which can be found on the 100 series motherboards

I was using pcpartpicker and apparently the i3-4170 is not compatible with this mobo? However, the i3-4160 is compatible with this mobo. Is this an error from pcpartpicker?

Potentially. After looking at both parts it seem that the 4170 will fit into this MOBO. However I have never had any issues with PCPartPicker. They might be going off user submitted data that it in fact doesn't work for whatever reason.

If I were in this situation I would compare the two CPUs and see if there is really any difference at all that I would notice, performance wise. If there wasn't I would just get the 4160. In any other case I would buy another CPU that PCPartPicker says is compatible and I am happy with. Better to be safe than sorry, eh?

What type of power source deos this need?

well it really depends on what you are going to be using with it as far as processor, graphics cards if any and any other attachments that you may want to add to it as well. Currently I ordered this motherboard with a Rosewell Stallion Series power supply RD 450-2DB. which is a 450 watt power supply as this will be used mainly in a business setup for video editing software it will be more then sufficient for this purpose. If you plan on doing some heavy gaming that require video cards or dual video cards I would go with a higher powered supply depending on which you are going to be using.

If you are are just using it for everyday use such as internet, email, some games that are on facebook, or big fish games the model i mentioned above will be more then sufficient for you.

is this compatible with the  "Intel Core i3-6100 3.7 GHz"? does it fit?

No. The i3-6100 uses a LGA1151 socket. This B85 motherboard only supports LGA1150.
