Great for XBMC 6/5/2012 5:49:50 AM

Pros: I purchased this board to replace a older, high-powered motherboard in an XBMC HTPC. This board can handle everything I have thrown at it. All the media files are on a central storage location, and streams across gigabit Ethernet. Fan is not noticeable from 5' away. Boot time is very impressive with an SSD.

Cons: None so far.

Very very solid board! 5/29/2012 5:29:52 AM

Pros: This is a very solid board! Running at roughly 20watts idle (board on it's own) the thing is much more powerful compared to my Atom file server (an Acer Aspire easystore). File transfers via LAN are also faster as I've been running a non stop low load FTP and HTTP server but it's had 0 blue screens in the past 4 months (reset the thing a few times after Win Update), which is pretty good.

Cons: I can hear the fan sometimes. (used a fan adapter and changed it to a quieter one)

Overall Review: Everybody was complaining about the lack of thermal paste between the CPU and heatsink. Mine seems to come with the grey TIM which isn't the best thermal conductant but you shouldn't change this as thermal paste tends to squeeze out of lidless CPUs over time.(it's also not recommended by AMD).

Great Mini-ITX Board 4/18/2012 4:30:27 PM

Pros: Small form factor, made by a trusted motherboard company. This will mainly be used as a utorrent, serviio box, file server. Won't need to do any heavy lifting so I didn't need a powerful processor. I originally had the ASRock E-350 board, this one seems to have better performance, no delay in opening/closing folders or any other visual performance problems. I paired this with an Antec ISK 300-150 and it works perfectly. The reason I like the E-350 boards is the power usage. With an 80mm fan, 64GB SSD, 2x 4GB ram this system uses 33 watts of power.

Cons: Like others have said, this board runs hot with the stock thermal paste. I removed the old thermal paste and applied MX-2, now it's running at 36/37 idle. I do wish it had a rear eSATA port, but the case I have came with a front port so not a big deal.

Overall Review: I don't know if I would recommend this board As-Is, it really needs new thermal paste for it to perform reliably. I definitely wouldn't recommend this if you're putting it in a fanless enclosure.

Surprisingly Strong for a mini 3/4/2012 1:14:23 AM

Pros: - Despite it's diminutive size, it can handle most heavy/graphic intensive 3D (Autodesk Maya 2008) & 2D applications (Adobe Photoshop CS5) a little above an average level of quality with some tweaking.

- Very cheap price; an entire system was assembled for less than $350 US after tax (OS not included)

- Easy to follow setup instructions in Owner's manual.

Cons: - Limited performance gains through BIOS tweaking; marginal performance increase of about 2% for 15 degrees more temperature.

-16x PCI Express is limited to 4x.

Overall Review: I originally got this in a pinch so that I could have a tiny foot print for all of my 2D and 3D work; sort of a proof of concept I suppose. These were the parts that were used:
- This Board (AMD Hudson-M1 FCH Mini ITX Motherboard/AMD E-350 CPU Combo)
- 2x 4GB AMD3-10600 CL9 1333 240-pin DIMM DDR3 Memory

- IN WIN BP655.200BL Black Steel Mini-ITX Desktop Computer Case

- SeaSonic SS-300TFX Bronze 300W TFX12V v2.3 Power Supply

- iStarUSA T-7M1-SA-RED 1x5.25" Bay Audio Series SATA Mobile Rack

- PNY VCGGT5201XPB GeForce GT 520 (Fermi) 1GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16

The overall cost, thanks to the board combo, was much lower than anticipated. Sadly, I neglected to take into account that most of the applications that I use require at least a 2GHz processor for normal/average performance out of the box (Adobe Photoshop has pen lag issues otherwise, for example). There are workarounds for each app to compensate for its strength, but it's good to know this before making a p

Gigabyte GA-E350N-USB3 2/1/2012 12:15:26 PM

Pros: The Board works well, it set up easily, and has been very reliable. Running it now as a MythTV Frontend.

Cons: Rant Mode On:

If you think you are getting a rebate from Gigabyte, forget about it! What a scam. I am so upset right now, I will never buy another Gigabyte product. I sent in the completed rebate forms, and they decline the rebate telling me that I didn't send in the invoice, give me a break!!! Then they tell me to resubmit the rebate with an invoice, so try that, and I write a note on the form that this invoice is for Rebate number ####, there is no way to send the other required information that they want since it was already sent in with the original rebate form. How would they expect me to send in this > Original Model Name & Serial Number Label cut from Retail Box is missing!

I give up no more rebates for me, and no more Gigabyte!!

Over and out!

Rant Mode Off!

Overall Review: Gigabyte rebates suck!!!!

Gigabyte GA-E350N 1/26/2012 9:46:19 AM

Pros: Great features in a small form factor.

Cons: Factory heat sink issues.

Overall Review: Like many I needed to update the thermal paste used on the heatsink. The factory heatsink is not great, but good enough if you disassemble the three pieces and carefully re-paste. Mine dropped 20 degrees C. After going through many Via and Atom mini ITX solutions I was impressed with the new AMD APU/GPU performance. With a good codec, this will do full HD graphics. Asus has a similar offering which has a superior heat solution, but lacks both HDMI and VGA outputs I required for my dual monitor boat application

Overall Review: Had issues with this motherboard and the LSI Megaraid 9240 8i. The system would not boot with the raid controller installed. I would receive a "No physical memory is available at the location required for the Windows Boot Manager. The system can not continue" error. I updated the bios to the latest version F2 according to the Gigabyte website, and the system booted flawlessly into windows with the raid controller installed.

Pros: Price is great for an entry level USB 3.0, SATA III motherboard and CPU. Installed with a regular hard drive using Vista Ultimate even though the lack of a trim command (only avail. in Windows 7) might hurt me later. Now I will wait for the price of SATA III solid state drives to come down before I upgrade.

Cons: The case I eventually bought sits on top of my wall mounted 42" LCD TV and looks out of place. The selection of thin cases that can be hidden behind an LCD TV without a DVD drive for this type of HDTV-PC is both limited and expensive.

Overall Review: Manufacturers of HTPC cases please pay attention. Media streaming services are making DVD drives obselete.
