Does a person have to have a ps2 mouse and keyboard with this motherboard to install windows operating system?

Nope, I just installed Windows 10 about a month ago using a usb keyboard and mouse. No problems at all.  Mouse is even recognized in the BIOS.

It is a single slot PCIe 3.0 x16 motherboard supporting one video card.
If you are looking for a dual slot motherboard look at the GA-H170M-D3H motherboard.
That model supports the AMD Crossfire compatible cards.

I've read some reviews saying that there are issues with the USB Drivers not being installed. Reviewers are reporting that USB installs of Windows 7 do not work. Is this the same for Windows 10 as well? Should I go ahead and burn a Win10 DVD in advance and pick up an internal DVD drive?

You cannot install Windows 7 using a usb thumb-drive or any other usb connected device, without first downloading the "Windows USB Installation Tool" from GIGABYTE's website. This is clearly stated on the bottom of the specifications page, which is the FIRST tab.  READ THE SPECS  before slamming this board. It's not the boards fault, it's just that Windows 7 is an older OS. You will not have this problem if installing Windows 10.

This board has only 2 ram slots. ddr4 2133 ram is quad channel ram? does this mean the ram will never reach its full potential? does quad channel ram run better when spread over 4 channels?
for example if I have 1 computer with 16gb ram (2x8)  vs  the same computer with 16gb ram (4x4),  does the computer with 4x4 run better?

The chipset on the board would need to support Quad channel and then you'd need 4 identical (or close to it) sticks of DDR4 to get Quad Channel.  Seeing as how there's only 2 slots, you won't get Quad Channel with this board.  However, I'd bet that you would not be able to notice the difference in performance between Quad, Dual, Single, etc. channel RAM unless you were specificially running a benchmark.  Also, I would bet that some other component of your system like hard drive or video card will more likely be the bottle neck of a system, instead of Quad Channel vs. Dual Channel.

TL,DR:  No this will not be Quad Channel, yes Quad channel is faster, but your would likely never be able to tell the difference.

Newegg only lists memory compatibility as handling 2133mhz.  Is that the case? Be a pittance if its ddr4 support is limited to the slowest possible version.

I ended up getting some 2133mhz modules. It may be the slowest version of ddr4, but it works fairly well.  It is the cheapest ddr4 supported board you'll find. My guess is faster modules may work on it, but the communication speed on it will be throttled to 2133.

Yes, this board has a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot that will accommodate the RX 470. But keep in mind you will need a power supply with enough juice, as well as a case that will accommodate a full-length double-height card. Some small form factor cases will not be long enough for that card.
