Question 1

Will this MB run 3 monitors at the same time? I am not a gamer, although I may play a little in the future, primary use - multiple business applications, surfing and video viewing.  Will use 3 22" monitors.

It depends on the CPU you pair it with, I know intel's hd graphics support up to 3 monitors.  You would have to use all three video connections to accomplish this: vga, hdmi and dvi.  Make sure your monitors have all three types of inputs.

If you want to get a cheaper CPU you could by a cheap graphics card with multiple outputs, something like this; GIGABYTE GV-N750OC-2GI GeForce GTX 750 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

If you were to get a graphics card then getting a cpu with onboard graphics would be pointless.  To go that route I would use a different chipset.

There are many ways to do it.  The trick is making sure all of your hardware is compatible for what you want to do.

Hi Jason,                                                                              This Motherboard will handle up to 32 GB's of Memory,, providing
you install a 64 bit Operating System..  Otherwise a 32 bit
Operating System will use less than 4 GB's of Memory,, regardless
how much memory is installed..  You can also check out the specs
that will give you the remaining information needed..

Question 3

I can't quite tell from the pictures but it appears that this board will support either USB 2 or USB 3.0 on the front ports. Is that correct?

Hi Sam.
You are correct both times, as this Motherboard will support
one of each @ USB 2.0 & 3.0.. More of USB ports can be added
to the PCI slots, which will appear at the back of the computer.

It should work fine. They are listed in G.SKILL's QVL listing.

How to determine this: If you search for F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL in an internet browser, there will be a link to gskill's site. Go there, then in the QVL section, you can locate Gigabyte > Z87. You'll see this motherboard model listed there.

I just need to find out if this is the rev 1.1 version of this board? - going to pair it with one of the new pentium G3258 cpus and it has to be that version for compatibility.

Will a Q8200 Intel processor work with this motherboard?

Unfortunately not, as the Intel Q8200 processor fits into a LGA775 on the motherboard, and this board has a LGA1150 slot. You would need to lookup a motherboard with an LGA775 slot.

Will this MB run 3 monitors simultaneously? I am not a gamer - currently although may start in the future. I will run business applications primarily, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database and statistics, with occasional web surfing and video watching.

I think so, the Z87 chipset is a new, high quality chipset, and should have no problems with that. Of course, you're going to need at least Windows 7, also also either 2 video cards with 2 video outputs each, or 2 video cards with 1 video output + internal video (which is so-and-so), or 1 video card with 2 video outputs + internal video.

If you want to use 3 identical monitors side-by-side, extending one big virtual desktop, then it's better to use 2 video cards with 2 outputs each.

Will it support SLI?

It doesn't support SLI because there's only 1 x PCI Express 3.0 x16.

You'd need two slots for SLI.

Will my intel i5 on a lga1156 socket work?

This Motherboard will not accept an 1156 cpu,, it's use is for the newer
1150 cpu's only..  Check out the specs. for the information you require..
