Pros: - Small - Quiet - Capable - Easy assembly - Linux friendly
Cons: - Boring black box - motherboard is so compact that it may be difficult to read the labels for headers and pinouts without magnification (won't affect most buyers)
Overall Review: Gigabyte did a great job with this product! For a 'nuc-like' computer, this is great, and the Embedded Ryzen is a beast of a chip. Noise levels are consistently quiet, even when I've been pushing the chip, which out of the box is performing much better than I would have expected in something this small. I bought this to setup as a Living Room PC and for my wife to game on. She's not a hardcore gamer by any means, mostly playing games like Stardew Valley, Minecraft, and occasional bouts into various survival games like Ark. For me, I mostly was hoping to use this for some streaming and emulation, but I've been ramping up the games I've been testing on here and it's working surprisingly well for 720-1080p gaming. A replacement for the Xbox Series X, this is not, but that's okay. It's both smaller, quieter, and because it's running Linux, more useful than any Xbox I've ever owned. Build: - GA-BSRE-1605 - 500GB WD Blue m.2 SSD - 16GB GSkill DDR4 (8GB x2) - Logitech K830 Wireless Keyboard/Mouse combo - Xbox One S Wireless Controller w/ Bluetooth - Ubuntu 20.04.01 - Installed Steam, enabled Proton Experimental, and set auto-login to load Steam Big Picture Mode So far this is one of the coolest mini-pc devices I've tried and set up. I have a Dell Optiplex Mini with Intel as well, and while its about the same size, this guy is a vast improvement.
