It is decent 1/18/2009 12:51:25 AM

Pros: I wanted to put a bigger cooler on a build I was performing and thought this cooler looks very nice for the price. Install is very easy (AM2), and it keeps the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 3.1GHz at 34-36C.

Cons: Size/efficiency ratio. Very large cooler, and I expected a little better results. Also just a little bit loud, but not too bothersom.

Overall Review: For the price this is a great product by Gigabyte. Only got 4 eggs because of my expectations of the cooler and the little amount of noise the fan makes

Not Very Good 1/17/2009 9:30:48 AM

Pros: None

Cons: Looked and felt cheaply constructed. Was not adequate to cool the CPU. Had to buy another make of fan.

My new favorite 1/1/2009 12:09:23 PM

Pros: Bought this some time ago when it was in stock and am I glad I did. I had this on an AthlonXP 3000 and hit 30-40c idle to load and that is astounding for that chip, but on my Phenom 8450x3 temps are even lower thanks to better thermal paste and 45nm tech. After 10 hours of Prime95 I woke up to 31c CPU temps.... I turned it off and within the first minute it had dropped back to 25c and has sat there comfortably ever since.

Cons: Mounting it to an intel board is a total pain, but possible, but will keep that thing very secure. The fan blades are really sharp, so sharp that even now I still have a scar from when a blade caught me in the finger, almost a year go.

Overall Review: In an Apevia X-Dreamer, I have every fan on intake, but a Silverstone 120mm 110cfm at 3/4 speed the whole time giving great airflow through the case. This, along with some ArcticSilver5 ceramic, and this fan bent 90* with the fan blowing at my exhaust fan, 20c CPU temps aren't uncommon. Even without the fan, this cooler runs passively at 30c idle and 40-45c load. Honestly this is the best cooler I have ever used and will be sure to get more in the future when they come back in stock. For $23 this is unbeatable and I would tell anyone looking at getting this to not think twice; it cools your CPU and the board around it effectively, you can't ask for much more than that :)

Pros: Great fan, awesome job at cooling the CPU. It looks great towering over the board in the case.

Cons: It was difficult to mount as others have said. Be careful if you have tall heat sinks on your RAM. Mine comes very close to the heat pipes, but it's enough that there is some separation.

Overall Review: I've seen this item out of stock more often. It's a shame since it's a really great fan at the price. Also when I build a case I like to have a branding to it, so having a Gigabyte fan on a Gigabyte board is a way to show of your support for great products.

Cool and quiet 12/7/2008 1:26:01 AM

Pros: Quiet. Not so big as to overshadow everything else. Great cooling properties. Super easy installation for AM2 users.

Cons: Fan enclosure looks toy like

Overall Review: Install was a snap in my Antec 1200 case, didn't need to remove mb, just the graphics card so I could get a little better leverage on the right hand clip. I used the thermal grease provided and it's every bit as good or better than Arctic Silver. Running an AMD 5400+ @ 3.2ghz with temps 20c idle to 35c load. Now that's one cool running machine.

Good All Rounder 12/1/2008 2:39:42 PM

Pros: Great Heat sink/fan combo for a low (now even less than I paid!) price. Easy to install, compatible with several different sockets. Comes with lots of mounting hardware, paste, and power connector.

Cons: Two things stand out: First, it slides around too easily on the CPU which makes me nervous. Second: The fan assembly (clips and mounting) although sturdy enough can be a pain to put back together if you take it apart to clean.

Overall Review: Other than that, it works great, and hasn't let me down. It's not really massive either so it should fit on almost any mobo without cramping ram/heat piping/case/etc. Oh, the color is kinda weird but you knew that. Looks like an iceberg or ice capped mountain in my case. That's probably the point though XD
