Question 1

I recently purchase this and a 735 watt power supply.  Is this enough to handle this beast?  Some people reported it demanding 750-1000 watt.  Others say 650 watt is fine.  So I'm confused.

I have a 750w and it works fine. Just make sure you use different connector pairs for it. In other words my power supply has two pairs of gpu power connections. You need to use one connector from each pair for best results. Hope that helps.

this was made my amd. does it only work for amd cpus or can it work for Intel type cpus like the i5-3470 Processor.  I am new to the whole pc building so this is why i am asking???

no worries on being a nweb, we all gotta start somewhere.

this card will work with any cpu you want, i have it with my intel i5-3570k. just make sure you have the proper drivers installed (amd catalyst control center, available on the AMD site)
and the appropriate pci slots for the card.

another concern is the need to change graphics output in bios. basically you need to tell the mobo to use the pci card instead of it's integrated graphics. this is easy and can be found on google, depending on the brand and model of your mobo...

how can i make 4 display with this card? my 4th display doesn't come out.

After your first two displays are connected via 1x HDMI and 1x DVI or 2x DVI, you will need to connect the 3rd and 4th display using an ACTIVE display port adapter. Since tnere is only 1 display port, you will need a DP hub of the ability to daisy chain from a DP capable monitor. If you're using all DP capable monitors, you can simply just use a DP hub or daisy chaining for all four.

Heyo,

My 290 runs at around 80C @ 50% fan speed while under a bit of stress ( An MMO and other applications open). It seems that it still likes to run hot, but the cooler does a good job at preventing it from going too hot that performance is effected, such as we see on the reference cards.

no i think i saw a spot in the amd catalyst control center to OC and adjust voltage. will have to double check when i get home though
