Yes, I bought it to use with a machine using Windows 8.1. Both the Wifi and Bluetooth work as is once installed. There are specific drivers you can install from Gigabyte if you want.

Will this work with windows 10?

Yes, I have 2 installed in Windows 10 systems. It has an Intel WIFI card on it and Windows 10 will load the driver for it. There is also a newer driver you can get from Intel if you would like it. I personally see an improvement using the newer driver.

Question 3

The specs say "Data rate: 1Mbps, 2Mbps, and up to 3Mbps". Can I assume that this is a typo and that it is Gbps instead of Mbps?

I think those data rate pertain to the Bluetooth part of the card, as wireless transfers are up to 867 MB/s. Confusing part is that it broadcasts on the 2.4 and 5.2 gigahertz band radio and it's made by Gigabyte. I only had 150 MB/s internet connection and this card was never a bottleneck. Also reception was 100X better than most wireless devices. My computer was on the other side of the house and I had full bars.

What is the bluetooth latency on this device? I had purchased a  pluggable USB bluetooth adapter but the latency was so high it was not good for gaming especially. I checked the website and could not find specific bluetooth specs on this. I want to use it for gaming and video but the latency was debilitating.

Sorry, I don't really know what you mean by latency. However, for what its worth, I used mine with ASUS TUF SABERTOOTH 990FX mobo 8 core AMD cpu. I did a lot of music and video work. I'm unsure if it was the board or the card, but, I found myself always uninstalling/installing the bluetooth drivers to connect about 50% of the time. It was frustrating and inconvenient, though the wifi was great....as the wifi has its own set of drivers, too.  Regards, Phillip

The cable is 36" long, I suggest you get an extension since the base is very flimsy and tips over easily and you want the antenna to be placed in a strategic and unobstructed location.

Is this compatible with Ubuntu?

I'm not certain, but it's pretty likely.  I use Fedora 21 and it works great.  I suspect that any reasonably modern Linux distribution would support it just fine.

Does anyone know why there is a USB header connector? I bought something similar and can't figure out why they have it but my Bluetooth doesn't work on mine and next to the USB header on the card it says Bluetooth. Does that USB header somehow help the bluetooth?

Yes. I'm not sure why, but the manufacturer chose to make the Wi-Fi go through the PCI-e slot and the Bluetooth go through USB via the included header cable. Poor design if you ask me, but if you want to use Bluetooth you will have to plug in the USB header cable to a USB header on your motherboard. If you do not have one to spare, you can purchase a USB header splitter.

Is this just an adapter for a wifi/Bluetooth card, or does it come with a wifi/Bluetooth card as well?

This card basically plugs into your motherboard and allows communication with wifi/BT.  For instance, when I assembled my computer, I did not have an ethernet cable plugged into my motherboard to connect to the internet.  Instead, I inserted this card into the motherboard, connected the included antenna, powered up my computer, then linked up to the internet via my home's wireless internet connection.  In terms of an "adapter" for another card, it is not.  It simply is the holistic solution to allow the Gigabyte motherboard wireless communication with BT/Wifi.  It is a card in and of itself.
