Great Motherboard so far

GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE AMD Ryzen 3000 PCIe 4.0 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.2 AMD X570 ATX Motherboard
GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE AMD Ryzen 3000 PCIe 4.0 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.2 AMD X570 ATX Motherboard

Pros: The sound quality is a slight upgrade from my old motherboard. I was worried I wasn't going to be able to customize it as much as I could on my old board with equalizers. I ended up loving how it sounds. I haven't noticed any fan noise from the chipset fan. Quick BIOS updates from Gigabyte each update cycle from AMD. Everything works great.

Cons: First board I got was super laggy in BIOS and ended up dying a few days in. Got a replacement that has no problems at all. If you get the mouse and keyboard problem where you have to unplug and plug in the mouse to use it every second get ready to RMA.

Overall Review: Best board on the market for the price if you want x570.

Most Critical Review

Quiet case except for the back fan which already is failing.

Cooler Master MasterCase H500P Mesh Gun ARGB Airflow ATX Mid-Tower with Dual 200mm ARGB Lighting Fans, Mesh Front Panel, and Tempered Glass Side Panel

Pros: Quiet Looks nice Cable management isn't bad

Cons: 3 months in and the back fan is making clicking noises like it's already dying. Case feels small compared to my HAF case. Plugging in the SSD's above the PSU can be a really tight squeeze along with fitting the cables for the bottom of the mobo. The mail in rebate card that came with it took forever and is extremely annoying to use. You have to buy things for the exact amount to get every penny out of it otherwise it will say "insufficient funds" on purchases. You can't just use it to take money off like a gift card and then pay the remaining balance on a purchase. Will never do a cooler master mail in rebate again.

Overall Review: Everything is pretty good except for the case fan which is currently driving me inside with it's noise. Since the rest of the case is so silent, it feels like that failing fan is extremely loud. Pretty big disappointment when you pay a premium price and expect a premium product.

Great drive but it's noisy in quiet builds

WD Black 4TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD4005FZBX
WD Black 4TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD4005FZBX

Pros: Very fast for a HDD. Plenty of room to upgrade to later. Bought a 1tb Black drive around a decade ago that still works great. Hope I get the same reliability out of this drive.

Cons: There's a clicking sound every 5 seconds or so. If you use HWInfo to monitor the drive, that sound becomes a lot more frequent. With HWInfo it seems to make the clicking sound speed up to every second. I disabled all monitoring on the drive to make it a lot more tolerable in my quiet case.

Overall Review: Tracking down what was causing the drive to make the clicking noise so frequently (HWInfo monitoring) was a hassle I didn't anticipate. I was extremely close to RMAing this drive or going with another WD model. I have a Cooler Master H500P Mesh case next to my desk and the loudest thing in the build is this drive at idle. My Sapphire Pulse 5700xt fans don't spin at idle. The sound is only something you can hear in a quiet environment. However, once you notice it, it might drive you nuts if something like this bugs you. Something to consider when comparing the black drives to the others. Speed comes at a cost for a performance HDD. I'm adjusting to the sound and I would definitely purchase another one if I needed the space.

Best Processor I've owned

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125W Processor - HDZ965FBGMBOX
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125W Processor - HDZ965FBGMBOX

Pros: I've been fiddling around with a ton of different things that would've taken me forever on my old Intel based computer. I'm just blown away by this upgrade. I'm not knocking Intel, I know they make great chips but for the price, they cannot touch this chip.

Cons: The HSF that comes with the chip is really annoying on load. SpeedFan is great for combating this. I don't like my CPU getting above 45c. Right now I'm idling at 32c. :]

Great Motherboard

ASUS M4A79T Deluxe AM3 DDR3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M4A79T Deluxe AM3 DDR3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: I have not had a problem at all with this motherboard. It runs my 3.4 ghz phenom II x4 BE superbly. Can't go wrong with ASUS in my experience.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I wish the Sata ports were located in a different spot. If I was running 2 GPU's it'd be rather annoying cable management wise.

Great Card

ASUS EAH5870/G/2DIS/1GD5/A Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card w/ ATI Eyefinity
ASUS EAH5870/G/2DIS/1GD5/A Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card w/ ATI Eyefinity

Pros: I've not been much of a gamer for the last couple years as work has pretty much consumed my life. After I threw this new computer together I had to test out this card. I played Dirt 2 for around 3 hours straight. Then I installed Red Alert 3, RA2, Generals, Generals ZH, Yuri's, etc. and it runs all of it at the highest resolution with highest settings. I'm blown away with this card.

Cons: The size of the card but you can't really control that when you get to the level this graphic card can handle. :p

Overall Review: Before this new build I was running an 8800 GTS and that thing was flaming hot constantly. But that could have been my small case. I cannot believe how cool this 5870 runs even when on load. Tremendous job done by ATI/AMD and ASUS.
