The drive worked great right out of the box. It was unformatted and had less than 1 hour of operation time logged and 3 power cycles, which is obviously the factory testing it. Also there were no reported replaced or failing sectors in the SMART data. In a synthetic linear data test of 8GB it got a blazing 201.0 MB/s read and 202.3 MB/s write speed. That makes it one of the fastest 2TB drives I’ve ever tested. In a scattered read and write test, which is a lot more realistic to what normal use would look like if it were a main HDD with an OS booting off of it, it got 0.596MB/s read and 1.616 MB/s write with 8GB total of data. The write speed was impressive considering the large data size probably offset the benefit of the cache. The drive was basically silent while in operation even under heavy scattered reads and writes. Overall I think this is an average drive for booting an OS off of and a fantastic option for a secondary drive that large files are read from and written to.
