So far so good
Pros: Quiet. Large capacity. No annoying seek clatter or spinning. These replaced some old Seagate Barracudas 7200.8 HDDs and I am impressed.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Installed four disks in a ReadyNAS NV. Unlike several of the other reviews, all four work fine. No disk errors, no issues. So far so good. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Not for a quiet build.
Pros: It's modular, is smaller than most ATX PSUs, is sleeved, and has optional shorter cables available. Four stars for flexibility. It can run a single video card gaming rig.
Cons: Don't buy this PSU if you are looking for a low noise power supply. Definitely not suitable for an HTPC environment. IMO, it is pretty noisy for a 500W PSU, esp, when running at idle. My 750W and 1000W are MUCH quieter. Minus one star for the fan NOISE.
Overall Review: It is rare to find a PSU of this dimension and power with modular cables. It is nice to have less unused cables to deal with in a small case. However, because of the noise, this PSU was unacceptable for my needs. I replaced this with a Nexus 530W PSU and am much happier.
Nice but fragile
Pros: Nice wireless illumination. I use one in my office and one for the HTPC/gaming PC in the living room. It is nice to have the illumination come on when you run your hand over the keyboard instead of being always on and draining the batteries.
Cons: Don't ever spill a drop of anything on this keyboard. If you do, don't try to clean it. I used an alcohol pad and compressed air to clean a few drops of splashed juice that made a couple of keys sticky. Bad idea. Whatever electronic key mapping this keyboard uses is very fragile. Now he Q key won't even work and several other keys enter different letters or series of letters on their own. There is apparently no way to do a hard "reset" on this keyboard.
Overall Review: Way too fragile for $99.
Great little fan!
Pros: Silent and effective cooling. I have two of these installed in ReadyNAS NVs. They are under my desk and I cannot hear them running between 1100 and 1300 rpms while keeping the temps of the 4x HDDs between 47-50C.
Cons: None
Overall Review: The 7v and 9v adapters are a nice touch.
Good low profile cooler
Pros: Fits in tight spaces and keeps an i5 2500 cool and quiet. Ran Prime95 for a few of hours and temps stayed at 66 degrees under load. Very impressed!
Cons: The installation instructions absolutely suck. It is actually pretty easy, but counter-intuitive. Google videos for installing this heat sink before you spend two hours getting no where.
Overall Review: I replaced the 120x15mm fan with a 120x25mm fan (another Scythe model). It makes a difference.
Size does matter!
Pros: The 100mm fans make a difference over the usual 92mm fans that most other cards have. They hold down the temps and run very quiet, even in an SLI configuration.
Cons: Fans are audible when gaming intensively. However, this is not distracting, just an audible whoosh that lets me know they are there.
Overall Review: I am a noise fascist. This is the best (most silent) stock solution that I've seen on a 2-slot video card in SLI. This was a replacement for a GTX 460 that had a dead silent Accelero cooler, but it was too big to SLI.
