Good Replacement

Hyperkin Genesis "GN6" Wired Controller
Hyperkin Genesis "GN6" Wired Controller

Pros: This is a surprisingly good third party gamepad, more so considering finding Sega Genesis replacement parts for official controllers is next to impossible for some reason. It's just about as good as the first party controller - nice shape, good buttons, sturdy enough plastic. After breaking it in for a bit the new 'stiffness' went away rather quickly.

Cons: The gamepad feels "soft" compared to the original controllers. It's not really bad but I like a bit more resistance to my controls. The mode button is also really odd being on the top right as an extremely difficult to press trigger, but since most games on the Genesis never even use that button it doesn't matter too much.

Overall Review: For the price I'm really impressed with this controller.

Does the Job

Logitech MK120 Wired USB Keyboard and Mouse - Black
Logitech MK120 Wired USB Keyboard and Mouse - Black

Pros: It's cheap. It types well. The feet on the bottom don't break off from just having your hands on the keyboard. I have no complaints about these keyboards.

Cons: None really.

Overall Review: I'm not an angry German/Austrian trying to play Unreal so it should hold up for most things.

Good Monitor. Stupid Base and Tilt Design.

Acer KN242HYL 23.8" Full HD 1920 x 1080 60Hz DVI HDMI VGA Built-in Speakers WideScreen Backlit LED IPS LCD Monitor
Acer KN242HYL 23.8" Full HD 1920 x 1080 60Hz DVI HDMI VGA Built-in Speakers WideScreen Backlit LED IPS LCD Monitor

Pros: It's a good monitor for most things like web surfing, YouTube, movies, basic games, etc. The base for a monitor this cheap is hefty enough. It didn't come with dead pixels.

Cons: The way the monitor attaches to the base is really bizarre. I have another Acer monitor where it slips in a slot and you tighten it. This thing on the other hand has two interlocking pieces of metal to I assume make the design tool less, but it makes it hard to fit in right. Oh yes, tilting it is horrible. There's a screw inside that's nearly impossible to loosen with average tools and trying to tilt the base without loosening it feels like you'll make it crack like a KitKat bar. No, I don't want a break of that.

Overall Review: It's a good monitor if you don't mind fiddling around with its quirks to get it working. I didn't test the built in speakers. Why try those when you can use a decent set of speakers?

Great Basic Case

XION XON-560 mATX/ ITX Meshed Mini Tower Case, USB 3.0, Black/Blue LED
XION XON-560 mATX/ ITX Meshed Mini Tower Case, USB 3.0, Black/Blue LED

Pros: Was building a desktop computer for my mom and had a friend help choose out parts. We eventually chose this as the price was right and it looked adequate enough. We were both surprised by how sturdy the case felt for the price. Very stable and doesn't vibrate from drives running hard. It also has enough room for okay cable management even when using a non modular PSU as long as you get a little creative. The SSD bay on the side works well - feels very clean being out of the way and unnoticeable. The tool less drive bay is nice. Fits 3.5 or 2.5 easily. The included fans are very quiet. The loudest thing you can hear from this case is the regular HDD spinning. Or I'm deaf. Your mileage may vary.

Cons: The power and reset buttons feel cheap. They're like something on a Fisher Price knockoff. The drive bay on the bottom cannot be removed, or at least we didn't find a way to remove it so we could move cables around more. Speaking of the bay, plugging SATA cables into your drives can be kinda awkward since the space where every other I/O cable goes through is already kinda packed making it difficult to feed the cable into to keep everything clean looking. There's also very little room behind the bay to plug them into the drives - very cramped. The I/O cables in our case weren't labeled clearly for some reason. Tons of ventilation, to the point where anything can get in. Gonna need to buy a lot of canned air for this. Fingerprint magnet.

Overall Review: I'd imagine it you wanted to install more fans for something like a liquid cooled setup all the extra vent mount points would give you a lot of options. My mom was happy with having a new computer and she finds it pretty, especially the blue lights on the front.

LIKE GRAPE FAN-TA

Corsair Air Series AF120 LED 120mm Quiet Edition High Airflow Fan Twin Pack - Purple (CO-9050016-PLED)
Corsair Air Series AF120 LED 120mm Quiet Edition High Airflow Fan Twin Pack - Purple (CO-9050016-PLED)

Pros: Air flow is great, fairly quiet as an exhaust or side intake fan(Tried front intake with a filter. Don't do that, it's loud. That's why they suggest a different type of fan for that.), and they're PURPLE. The purple on these is amazing. Inside of the case if there's anything that is white, yellow, orange, or green the purple LEDs have a similar effect to what a black light does. This would probably be a really great look in a case with a window.

Cons: None at the moment.

Works Just Fine

Logitech Logitech S120 2.0 Stereo Speakers S120 2.20 Watts (RMS) 2.0 Speaker System
Logitech Logitech S120 2.0 Stereo Speakers S120 2.20 Watts (RMS) 2.0 Speaker System

Pros: Small and fairly heavy, sturdy bases so they don't fall over, adjustable volume control and headphone jacks are nice, and the sound is good enough for me.

Cons: The sound is a bit tinny if you turn it up really high, but I generally wear headphones if I want my sound to be at that intensity so it doesn't bother me. It might bother people who want to watch movies or listen to music with a lot of bass. Speaking of which, these lack any real bass. I have an old laptop whose speakers have more bass and they were super small. The power LED on the front is also like staring into The Terminator's damaged eyeball. I had to put electrical tape over the front of it so I could even sleep at night.

Overall Review: At this price you shouldn't expect anything amazing out of these. They're very average speakers, but they get the job done.
