Pros: - great price for the build!- quick- good speaker audio- nice keyboard spacing, easy typing and matte feel to keys, keyboard LED are not overbearingly bright (haven't checked if you can change this feature)- clear matte-type screen and graphics with good/bright coloring at start- pretty slim to be a gaming laptop- able to upgrade storage (have not done this but it is stated you can add additional SSD for storage - some of the reviews state you cannot do this but then some say you can - will be doing it in the future so will change this review is if is not possible).
Cons: - power cord adapter in the back (likely to make it more desktop friendly), personal preference is to the side but not a deal breaker- power corn from computer to battery pack not very long - base can heat up pretty quick if you leave it sitting on the bed/without proper ventilation- Not a con anymore but would have been a con if I hadn't figured out how to fix the issue (via ASUS help page): I was having problems with my touchpad/mouse lagging/skipping around from lack of sensitivity. I looked online and found if you go to Windows - settings (cog symbol) - Devices - Touchpad ... you can adjust sensitivity and speed.
Overall Review: Great laptop. Glad I bought it. Used Quad-pay and am able to pay a fourth of the total every two weeks for eight weeks.
Pros: I love the balanced weight of this device, it hangs from my support bar very comfortably so I can work while lying down and staring straight up. The device boots up in about 6 seconds, which is fantastic! So far the couple of games I have played have performed very well
Cons: I haven't checked if I can turn this off, but the constant changing and blinking lights are a little bit much. I'm just looking for a great-performing laptop at a great price, not a carnival ride. I wish it didn't say "Republic of Gamers" right when it boots up. I like to at least pretend this computer is for work and keep my gaming a shameful secret.
Overall Review: I'd like to be prompted to check back in 2 years, because everyone knows things can change, but the first couple weeks have been great.
Pros: Good specs for gaming While this laptop is not the top of the line gaming platform, Its specs and performance will let you play against the top of the line systems WOW anybody?
Overall Review: I recommend this for a serious gamer that wants to watch their budget also
Pros: I buy it in cybermonday, good price for what i get Love the RGB and the 17 inc IPS screen
Cons: Need to upgrade your SSD, but its easy
Overall Review: If you dont want to spend too much on a desktop o a gaming laptop, i will recommend it to you
Pros: pros- good keyboard. the keyboard from the acer predator helios needs to take some lessons from these guys. powerful and responsive cpu and gpu. no stuttering on vr. all games worked flawlessly even that poor quality game medal of honor vr. i refunded it immediately because the game was made by people who do not understand how vr works, however the game functioned very well from what little i saw. half life alyx works perfectly. i upgraded immediately with a 1tb ssd drive and it was very easy to upgrade, the only thing you have to be carful of is that there are two wires that connect flashing lights on the bottom of the laptop to the rest of the machine and when you take the screws out and take the laptop apart, be carefuell not to pull on the wires too hard you need to disconnect them carefully.
Cons: cons- the backlight bleed, it is much worse than on my 2018 acer predator helios, however i can only see the backlight bleed when im looking at a blank screen, so whatever. - the positioning of the hdmi cable input, it is in the back and far from any of the usb c inputs for the vr and it makes it hard to secure it properly so as to prevent pulling directly on the actual laptop itself and causing damage during normal usage. i need a way to prevent damage to the laptop during normal usage and you are making it difficult. shame on you asus. otherwise good laptop
Overall Review: i would reccommend this laptop with the caveat that it needs an immediate ssd upgrade or good luck playing any games with your tiny little storage space. upgradeability is good. price is debatably decent, but the rtx 30 series is coming soon, and vr is looking deader every day, if you need a quality mid to top tier laptop for gaming pick this one. if you can what for the rtx 30 series do that instead.
Pros: My pro's Large area for resting your hands when typing. Overall weight(my last gaming laptop was a TANK) Speed, speed, speed. This thing is FAST Great display backlit keyboard Keys are responsive small bezel, which gives the screen a larger appearance runs very quiet when just browsing the net fan speed button Speakers are loud enough for me and sound good
Cons: Keyboard size is smaller than my last one and has taken some getting used to. Plug ins for a mouse are all on the left hand side. When I game I sit on my couch with the mouse on the cushion next to me, so having to stretch the cord around to the right. Can get a bit warm when actually on your lap during a gaming session
Overall Review: Overall I just cant get enough of this laptop. I almost smile each time I jump on to do anything, and have started gaming again because of it. If your looking for what I would guess is a budget minded gaming laptop you cant go wrong with this one. This is my second ASUS laptop and would consider myself sold on the brand.
Pros: Powerful, fast, noiseless
Cons: Heavier than other laptops but a newborn baby is heavier than this one.
Overall Review: Sincerely, this is the first time I buy a gaming laptop and the specs of this one is particularly superb, considering current technologies. Smooth keyboard that feels as natural, fast typing. Internet connectivity is remarkable since I haven't had any connection issues around the house. So far, I haven't tested the GPU unit as in games or in scientific software but I bet it will greatly impress me. I am positively shocked by the product and I am looking forward to unleashing all its power. The downside was unrelated to Newegg or by this ASUS laptop. It was the delivery carrier who deliberately misplaced my order in other house, considering that the address on the label was correct. My husband was at home, nothing at front door, but the website showed the product was delivered. Anxiety levels significantly arose, no wonder why, but at the end of the day everything was solved (without carrier's help).
Pros: This pc for the price cant beat it for under 2I you get rtx 2070 and I7.
Cons: Adding more hardrive space become expensive fast I purchased an extra TB for less then the model with an extra tb. Ssd that came with laptop is kinda slow
Overall Review: I would recommend this to anyone wanting great performance for under 2k
