The iBUYPOWER Slate is a gaming desktop with an Intel Core i9-14900F, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD, suited to gamers and users who want a powerful Windows 11 PC for gaming and demanding everyday tasks.
Recommended For
- PC gamers using a 1440p monitor who want high settings in current games; RTX 5070 reviews consistently place this GPU in the 1440p gaming tier.
- Players who want a ready-to-use desktop gaming setup: the listed configuration includes a gaming keyboard and mouse, and a Slate review found the included peripherals useful.
- People combining gaming with CPU-heavy multitasking or moderate creative work, such as editing, who want a desktop with an i9 processor and 32GB of memory rather than a portable system.
- Gamers who are comfortable using DLSS in supported titles when they want smoother performance or higher visual settings; reviews identify DLSS as a useful complement to the RTX 5070.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- Playing current single-player games at 1440p: this PC is best suited to high-detail 1440p gaming, though demanding ray-traced titles may call for DLSS or reduced settings to keep play smooth.
- Streaming gameplay from one PC: a player can use OBS with the RTX 5070’s NVENC hardware encoding while gaming; keeping some GPU headroom can help avoid rendering or stream issues in demanding games.
- Editing video in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro: GPU-accelerated effects and supported video codecs can benefit from the RTX 5070’s encoding and decoding hardware, while the gains vary by project and editing task.
- Playing competitive multiplayer games: users can target high frame rates at 1080p or 1440p, with the experience depending on the game, graphics settings, and monitor refresh rate.
- Recording gameplay or creating clips: the dedicated video encoder can handle supported recording formats, making it practical to capture play for later editing without relying only on CPU-based encoding.
