    The GLOTRENDS U3142A adds two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports at up to 10Gbps each to a desktop, workstation, Mac Pro or server, using the ASMedia ASM3142 host controller. The two ports share a PCIe 3.0 x2 upstream link of about 2GB/s and the card installs in a PCIe x4 slot or wider, so a single NVMe SSD enclosure, external HDD or high-speed flash drive runs at its real rated speed rather than being throttled. Independent power management supplies up to 5V/2A (10W) per port for industrial cameras and bus-powered NVMe enclosures, and a SATA power connector is provided when the motherboard slot cannot deliver enough current. Native UASP support maximises throughput, and the card remains backward compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. Windows 11/10/8, macOS and Linux are supported with a driver for Windows 7, and full-height plus low-profile brackets are included.
