Yes, we use these in lab environments, plugging 8 machines, each with a monitor, into them just fine. These are a great product.

Question 3

I want to use this power strip to charge school microscopes. Are the outlets at least 3 inches apart? That's about the size of the microscope chargers.

Hi Jane,

The receptacles are 1" square. They are spaced 1 and 5/8" apart. That is, the distance from the left hand side of one receptacle to the right hand side of the next is one and five eighths of an inch.

So if the body of your wall adapter is 3", they will fit side by side. However, most of the adaptors I use have the wire emanating from the bottom (or top). In that case the top to bottom orientation when plugged in to the power strip is along the length of the strip. If that's your case, you would need more than 3" methinks.

Look carefully at the Tripp Lite picture to see how the receptacles are oriented.
