Can this be used other than gaming and protect eye fatigue?

I'm a software developer and I use these at work every day to relieve some of the strain of having to stare at a bright monitor for hours at a time. After getting laser eye surgery my eyes became both more dry and sensitive to bright lights, my gunnar glasses helped a lot. Needless to say, I'm rarely looking at a computer without my gunnars.
