Pros: I used this product for 10 years and it worked well.
Cons: This year's version includes a full-on phishing scam, one so blatantly deceptive I'm still in disbelief that H&R Block actually did this. While entering my return, I was greeted with a screen that indicated there was a problem with my information ("Uh-oh, we see that some names on your return don't match"). The product recommends you to "Update the name(s) below to get things fixed," but that actually signs you up for Personalized Services and accepts the associated consent agreement. There was no problem with my information. It was just email scammer-levels of trickery (i.e., blatantly lying) by H&R Block to trick people into signing up for Personalized Services. This is completely unacceptable. It wasted my time while I tried to figure out what was wrong with my return, and now I have to stop all the friends and family that I've recommended this product to over the years from falling for this.
Overall Review: The actual functionality of the product is irrelevant when the company selling it decides to implement a phishing scam on their own customers. After 10 years of using this and recommending it to relatives, I almost certainly won't be purchasing it ever again.
