Question 1

Is this bright enough to use in place of regular lightbulbs for a room at home as a main lighting source?

Accepted Answer

This is a 3 watt LED light bulb rated at 250 lumens in the description at the brightest setting.  That is slightly brighter than a 25 watt soft white incandescent light bulb, but this light is on the blue side of the light spectrum and is a spot light design.  It will not replace a 60 watt light bulb typically used for room lighting.

can i connect the 2 lights to one remote?

The remotes seem to send the same signal for each specific hitlight product, meaning I have two of the string lights that I bought separately from here, each coming with it's own remote.. But both remotes will turn on either strip light as they are the same product.  I also have one of these bulb lights that came with a different remote, where I imagine the same to be true if I bought a second. Although I find you have to point the remote at the light to turn it on, so if you have two lights far apart it prob won't turn on both with one click as you'd probably need to point it at each and click.  I'm betting you could always upgrade the remote to a Logitech harmony or something to provide better signal dispersion and maybe also utilize ir emitters linked to the remote or something.  Good luck.. And this light is slick.

Question 3

Once the initial bulb with remote is purchased, can one buy JUST the bulbs without remote?

We never received the light bulb, it said it was shipped in the box, and Newegg couldnt tell me when it would arrive and since it was a Christmas gift I had to cancel the order and find something else. Sorry I couldnt help, I really wanted too though it looked awesome!

Question 4

If you buy more than one, are the remotes on different channels?  How can you have the different bulbs be different colors if they are not on separate channels.

From my experience, the remote is range sensitive and works best with line of sight use. So, if the bulbs are not too close together you should be able to have them change the color on one with out the others changing. That is if they have the same channels.

will this product work in a normal over head light that can be turned on by a switch on the wall?

Hi 
Is there a way to control this light so that it only goes through some colours not all of them? 
For some projects all of the colours would be good. But for my current project I only need a variety of blue colours and a white that it can smooth fade between, does such a light exist ?
Any help or advice this would be fantastic. jo

As far as I know, the answer is no. The colors cycle through the available pallet.  I mainly use the blue in our solarium, because it goes best with our décor.
