Can you control each color separately? I think these would be great to mimic sunlight if you have the ability to extend the strip and control the colors properly.

Yes you can control each color (red, green, blue) and mix them to get the color you want.  You can also control overall brightness.  You can save 6 custom color combos.  I have a sunrise and sunset color.  There is not timer to cycle through colors if that's also what you want though.

Yes, there is a power adapter like on a laptop that powers it.

You can get the connectors from Newegg also by searching Hitlights strip LED connectors. And matching up the spec's of the connector that matches your strip LED's.

CAN YOU PLUG EXTENSION DIRECTLY INTO END OF 16 FOOT RUN WITH OUT MORE ADAPTERS?  AND WILL  TRANSFORMER RUN 32 FEET 8 WATTS OF LEDS. OR MUST LITE STRIP AND EXTENSION STRIP BE PLUGGED INTO TRANSFORMER DIRECTLY?

The strip is 4 watts per feet, so a 16 foot strip will max out one 60w transformer. You'll need to buy a amplifier adapter by hitlight that allows you to connect 2 strips together and also supply additional power to the second strand.
