Can I convert a tape that is longer than 2 hours.  If so, what is the maximum?

It is definitely possible: when you go to convert your tape you will be able to chose the intended output format. The longest format is 4g WMV, which the program states can record up to 5 hours and 45 minutes of footage.

Also note that the software package contains a drag and drop digital video editor that would potentially allow you you edit a long video into smaller pieces or combine small fragments of a video into one long video.

How is this able to capture 8mm film?

Hey Jonathan,
Unfortunately this product is not going to help you capture 8mm film directly to DVD.  Years ago I had my local camera store create VHS tapes from my 8mm film so I was able to convert those tapes to DVD.

is  the honestech 5.0 deluxe compatible with the amd phenom llx3 n830 processor ?
