Can the scanner charger base be used as a stand?

Yes, you can mount the base vertically or horizontally. You can also program it to read the barcodes while it's sitting in the base for those times when you want to leave the scanner stationary and hold the barcodes up to it.

Does this Honeywell 1202G scanner work with the andriod operating system? We are wanting to use it with a tablet.

Not sure, but just so you know, this scanner needs the base from what I know.  You can't connect it via Bluetooth to another device.  The base needs to be plugged in via USB.
