is this compatiable with windows 10?

Yes! Use it on an older laptop that was upgraded to Windows 10. It is occasionally not recognized and a restart is necessary, but I believe it is the fault of the laptop, not the scanner.

We are desiring to order this item so that we can scan bar codes to check people in to a system and eliminate the need to have to click another button such as a check in button?

By default, the scanner enters the values scanned and then enters a "return key". For example, if scanning bar-codes in Excel, after each scan it would automatically drop to the next line.

Will this scanner work with Windows 7 pro?

Yes it works with Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit) it's Plug and Play. Ours is on a Win 7 64 bit PC. In our case we also needed it automatically append a prefix to our scanned barcode, and Honeywell Support was fantastic at assisting us in setting that up.
