The HP EliteBook 8 G2a is a 14-inch Copilot+ PC with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 450 processor, 32GB of memory, a 512GB SSD, and Windows 11 Pro—suited to professionals who want a business laptop for multitasking and AI-enabled productivity.

Recommended For

• Mobile professionals who work away from dependable Wi-Fi can use the built-in 5G to stay connected on commutes, client visits, or between office locations; cellular service requires a separate plan.
• People who spend much of the workday typing—such as writers, analysts, and office staff—are a strong fit: Notebookcheck praised the keyboard and found the Ryzen AI 7 450 delivered solid performance for everyday business tasks.
• Hybrid workers who regularly join video calls can use it as a portable work computer: Notebookcheck found it well equipped for everyday office work and video conferencing, with good speakers and a good camera on its review unit.
• Traveling office users who prioritize long unplugged work sessions may find it suitable: Notebookcheck reported excellent battery life with its low-power display configuration, though runtime depends on the screen and battery configuration.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• When handling a typical business workload—documents, spreadsheets, browser tabs, and several apps open at once—the 32 GB configuration and Ryzen AI 7 450 should support responsive multitasking; a review of the same 14-inch processor configuration found stable performance under sustained CPU workloads.
• For working between offices, client sites, or other locations without dependable Wi-Fi, the 5G-equipped configuration can connect through a supported cellular network, reducing reliance on a phone hotspot; cellular service, coverage, and activation are required.
• For web research, email, and other light work away from an outlet, this laptop is suited to mobile work; Notebookcheck measured nearly 20 hours in a controlled Wi-Fi browsing test on a reviewed 14-inch G2a configuration, though battery life varies with screen, settings, and workload.
• For supported Windows AI features and other light AI-assisted tasks, the Copilot+ PC platform provides access to local AI capabilities; which tasks run locally depends on the feature and software being used.
• For occasional casual gaming or basic graphics work, the integrated Radeon 860M can handle lighter demands, but the reviewed configuration’s graphics are not intended for demanding games or workstation-class 3D workloads.
