Wouldn't that be nice?!  I actually had the exact same question and contacted newegg tech support to look into this and to update the listing and I also contacted HP to verify but there are 2 sodimm slots, 1sodimm is used with 4GB ram, the max this notebook will accept is 8GB ram but you need to use DDR3L - 1600....L = low voltage. some HP forums mentioned that not using low voltage ram would/could short the dimm slot.  So please be aware of this is.  Hope this helps!
