Does this laptop come with Windows 7 Pro as its IOS?

From my understanding yes.  I have not fired up the laptop yet, but HP support told me its a Win7 OS with the ability to upgrade to Win8

No, it does not include a DVD-ROM drive.  While some SKUs of this laptop contain a DVD-ROM drive, it does not appear to be an available option to purchase separately.  So you'll need to use an external DVD drive for those times that you need to install software.

Does with win pro license mean it has both OS?

It came with Windows 7 Professional already loaded, and also shipped was Windows 8.1 DVD that you could download onto the computer to replace the installed Windows 7 OS.
I would keep Windows 7 on the system until Windows 10 is released that is supposed to be a free upgrade.
8.1 requires a great learning curve especially on a non-touch computer.

Assuming nothing has changed since I bought it, it ships with Win 7 x64 (I believe Professional Edition but I am not certain), but includes an upgrade disc for Win 8.1. Since this is to be a gift I left it as Win7. How one is to use that disc on a laptop with no disc drive if they did not own an external is another question...

I thought this laptop had an optical CD/DVD drive.  I see the area where it usually is, but I can't open it.  Is it present?  How do I open it?

I made the same mistake, assuming that it has an optical drive. It doesn't. I'm probably going to purchase a USB external drive. I haven't checked if an internal could be added. We don't use it very frequently any way.

Mine came w/ Win7 installed and ready to go.  Included a disk w/ Win8 and key.  Kinda ironic since it has no CD/DVD drive.
I doubt I'll ever attempt to install 8.  7 seems to work fine so far.

Is there a removal battery? Is it portable after charged?

The battery is removable. Not exactly what what you're asking about the portability. But, if it's of any help, the charge lasts a decent amount of time at the right light setting and without heavy usage(i.e. not gonna last five hours if you're watching a movie and have a billion websites up) and the laptop is much lighter and easier to travel with than my previous.

I've been reading a lot of q+a. Not in the mood to go through 100+ questions. I received this laptop with win7 pro. I'm not sure why I was not given any directions on how to upgrade to 8. The deal was that I could when I purchased it, and it says I can on the box. No upgrade CD included and even if so, no dvd/cd drive. I contacted HP and they're not sure about solution. Is it In the recovery D drive? Should I return it? why can't I get answers other than in a Q+A forum? Thanks.

Mine included a cd but it doesn't have a drive to play from - funny.  If you have the product key (should be included), you can install from link on windows Microsoft site.  If not, NewEgg should send a cd since it was in the bottom of the box.

It does have WiFi.  I noticed some reviews about the HP 350 G1 with other configurations giving people WiFi issues under Windows 7 but mine is working fine.
