There are 2 2gb modules installed, leaving 2 slots free. It functions with the 4 gigs but it really needs a minimum of 8gb.also if you are going to add more memory and or  a video card, be prepared to replace the underpowered power supply. Still for the price, you can't beat it. There's zero crapware installed as well, which is refreshing.

can't answer that but I can tell you that with a SSD it is remarkably fast for what it is.
