Question 1

A few reviews & questions state PC came with Window 7 Home but a Windows 7 Pro key.  Are all these messed up or are these isolated cases?  Newegg listing states it comes w/ "Pro 64 bit" - which is it?

My HPDC5800 came with W7 Pro 64. Sticker with Key was right on the box.

Mine had 6 USB ports in the back and 2 in the front.
It's a desktop speaker so I don't think it really has speakers but has a standard microphone and speaker plug on the front. Not sure about the back (hard to get to where it's installed now). It came with vga and dvi inputs but I bought a video card for it for $6 that had hdmi, Dvi and vga as well although since its a small form factor box had to remove the vga connector to fit. Mine came with 4-1gb ram cards so it used all 4 ports. My dad got one and it came with 2-2gb so I would say that will vary. Used dell hard drive. Everything works though and it comes with a clean windows install so no bloatware which was a wonderful surprise. Couldn't be it for the price.

What download internet speed will it handle?

I'm pretty sure that these have a gigabit (1000/100) NIC (ethernet) which means they'll handle just about all standard Internet speeds as long as your equipment is also gigabit.  In summary: It'll easily handle cable 100 megabit speeds, as long as your router/gateway are strong enough.

Question 4

Does anyone know if the cpu supports Virtualization Technology?   One way to tell is by downloading and running Intel Processor Identification utility and looking under cpu technologies tab.  Under section "supporting advanced intel processor technologies"  it should either say yes or no.

Hi, Mine came with the Intel E7500 2.93GHz, which was nice, and this one does support Virtualization. Also when I received it, it would not boot up. So I removed all the ram and re-inserted them and have not had a problem since. Also put in a DVD burner and wireless card. It lags on some video, but that's why they make TV's. I'm real tempted to get another one...for the price it's hard to beat.

Does it come with Microsoft Word or Office? Don't need the really high powered software, something for home office and compatible with the web. Or recommend something which I can look at. Thanks

No.   Office products are not included.  The system I purchased was missing the power cord also.

Download Libre Office or Openoffice.  Either is freeware and will complete most tasks.

What kind of DDR ram does this one have? Can it be expanded or is 4GB the maximum ram?

The computer has 4 slots for memory.  The one I have has RAM in all 4 slots, for a total of 4GB.  The specifications say that 8GB is the maximum RAM supported, so in my case, I would need to replace all 4 sticks to expand it.

Does this have on board video and sound?  If so, is it limited to VGA or does it have DVI or HDMI connection?

Yes on board video and audio. 1 VGA connector there is no DVI connector.
