Can the monitor be lowered??

Yes definetly,

I think it is kind of floating and no lever mechanism needs to be turned.

Just slide it up and down and tilt it as well.

However, I do not remember exactly since I threw away the stand, I am using desk attached double monitor arm 3rd party

What is the actual screen height and width without the borders? (Why aren't product specs included at NewEgg?)

Near as I could measure the active display area is
12 3/4 inches high by 20 3/8 inches wide.

Does the monitor have a display port out for daisy chaining multiple displays?

No it does not. It has a single display port for video input.

How do I get sound from my computer to the display?

This display does not have speakers built in. You would need to purchase separate speakers or the sound bar attachment that HP sells to get audio.
