Does this have WIFI or a DVD?

My machine has a DVD-ROM only. No burning capability whatever.

It has no native Wi-Fi, either.

*However, specs may vary from published data* I only had one  NIC(on motherboard), whereas some people report two in the two PCI slots. Even the processor may differ.

It's a deal no matter how you slice it. The PSU is anemic, but the expansion possibilities are pretty limited, so you should be good there.

I'm not going to post a link to the pdf of the HP 7800 SFF. If you use the following search string, you should easily find it: "HP Compaq dc7800 Business PC specs + pdf"(less the quotation marks, of course. You can use the "+" operator without issue.

Make sure that you're looking in the column for "SFF." This is a Small Form Factor PC. The case is rated for well over 70lbs. of monitor. The little case seems EASILY capable of supporting that much weight.

Question 2

I don't see specifics listed.  Does this have USB ports, sound output, and wifi?  Also no graphics info.  I want to use my 1920 x 1080 Vizio screen.  If I've missed some link with these details, I apologize.  This looks like what I need if that stuff is included and can run the graphics.  Also want to confirm it is NOT Win7 Starter.

I gave this computer to my dad to use so don't have it right here.  However, it does have USB ports for sure, and he does get sound thru his TV and also possibly the computer has native sound (he tells me he hears sounds from the computer but I don't think he has speakers hooked up).  He has it hooked up to a flat screen TV but not via an HDMI port.  I think he's using he microphone jack for sound and the monitor port for the flat screen.  It comes with a full copy of Win 7, I believe it's the home edition, it validated fine.  Again I don't have the computer with me to make sure so if you get another answer that conflicts take that one first.  We've been happy with it.

Does this computer come with a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit restore CD?  Thank you.

No, it doesn't come with a restore CD, but it does have an 11GB recovery partition on the HDD.

Question 4

I looked up E2180 at HP's website and it is in fact a Pentium Dual Core 2.00 GHZ PC. My question is: does it come with an installation DVD?

Accepted Answer

No installation DVD is included.  However, once you setup the computer, you can create a recovery USB stick.  Just go to [START] and open "Recovery Tools" and then select the option to make recovery media.  It will prompt you for the drive location of the USB stick you will use.  Just use that stick to reinstall Windows when necessary.

How is the RAM configured (2x1GB, 4x512MB, etc.)?

I went to the lenovo website where the info was that there were four slots.  I have not checked the inside since then, so it is probably two 1gb chips.  I don't think this memory comes in smaller chips.  so you probably have two more slots left, and you could install two - 2gb chips

can I add a new video card to this desktop and use dual monitor?

Does the current integrated video and sound card would stay in ?

You can buy another video card for dual monitors, however, you will need a half height video card with two outputs.  The integrated video/sound is integrated; you can't remove it.  This pc has 2 pci-e (the reason why i bought it) slots in it, so you should be good to go.

My kids are addicted to Mine Craft. Will this play Mine Craft?

I bought this for my nephew, with the same idea in mind - however I haven't given it to him yet.  I did power it up, and was pleased with it's overall performance, Windows 7 started up pretty fast, and the system felt "fast" - but I didn't try minecraft.  Sorry I can't be more helpful.  Note: I have a spare HD6450 video card which I was going to install if base performance wasn't good enough for him.

Do you know how many memory slots this computer has and what their maximum speed is? What is the maximum capacity for ram? Also, is there 1 2GB ram stick included or 2 1GB sticks? What is the power consumption of this unit? How many PCI cards are present and what types are they? Thanks for the help, I'm looking to build this as a word processing and flash gaming rig for my friend.

This can not be used for anything but word processing and internet surfing.  It is only a duel core can only hold 8 gig of memory, but only comes with 2, 80 gig hard drive, a game just came out that is 49 gig of memory, which that would be unlikely, I bought it for a friend that needed a computer, and told him the same thing, Internet and word processing, I put a copy of word 2010 in it and said good bye, Now he has said it has worked flawlessly.  Buy, hey anything can be done, prob. They've scratched off the Windows key so you can't use it on a new build or mobo upgrade.  It was made for a business that only did word processing and internet. Hope that helps.

Question 9

The specs here indicate a 2 GB memory capacity.  HP cites a 4 GB memory capacity for dc7800.  Are there slots for 4 memory?  I wish to use Win 7 32 bit instead of 64 bit ( I am aware of diminished memory with 32 bit).  Can 64 bit be removed and 32 bit installed?

I cannot remember if there or 2 or 4 memory slots, but 4Gb is easy to accomplish. You can sidegrade, though it's a refurb license, so you may need a different license.

Does this support HDMI out for monitors or TVs?

There is a DVI port on the back, you would need to check if your monitors have DVI or purchase a DVI -> HDMI adapter.
