Does the laptop have gigabyte network card, or is it just 10/100?

10/100 only.  I have a gigabit on the USB3 port and it hits 105MB/sec, so this is best for backups and other very big transfers.

The docking station that comes with it only has a usb port. Its built to be a portable unit so it's bare bones when it comes to external accessories. Look for wifi enabled or wireless devices or usb devices. Otherwise you're going to want an adapter.

Is the display a true high-resolution, IPS display? What are the viewing angles like?

Since it's a 64-bit with a high processor, I'd say yes. I suggest looking it up on HP though.
