Pros: Reasonably quick, SSD speed, 12.5" form factor is great for 1366x768, slim and light, good keyboard (backlight is adjustable hi/low/off). Great access to components "under the hood." Units without 4G data cards still have cables and a slot for a "WWAN" card, so presumably has antennas too. According to HP, this part number J8U68UT is for the G2, not G1 as listed. Cool low profile RJ-45 jack. Touchpad disable button on touchpad. Touchpad is great except for Synaptics driver caveat below. Power, wifi and speakers on/off buttons are easily accessible and there's a minimum of other "stuff" on the case.
Cons: Synaptics driver (both HP bundled and vanilla) doesn't allow the use of PalmCheck without a non-adjustable keystroke deactivation timer. I've used PalmCheck for a long time and have never experienced this. Oily fingers will leave fingerprints everywhere. HP Connection Manager is required for screen brightness hotkeys to work, and the app is slow to respond. No eSATA port. No 3.5mm microphone jack. No optical drive. Up and down arrows are much smaller than left/right. Bezel is a bit tall on the screen, but leaves room for a great touchpad and touchstick buttons. Have to pop off entire back cover to install battery.
Overall Review: This worked out much better for me than the Fujitsu E744 (although it's more directly comparable to the E734), due to the Fujitsu's lousy keyboard. Fingerprint scanner and included endpoint management software (including full disk encryption) are great, if the fingerprint scanner isn't a bit slow.
