How can I connect this to my custom made desktop pc?

t's a bluetooth keyboard, so via bluetooth, naturally. Your custom made desktop pc must have a bluetooth card or usb dongle etc

What does the top left key on the keyboard do?

It is the escape key, also is back in android.

Does it work with OS X (Macbook Pro)?

yes, obviously it is a windows keyboard so it is a little different. The windows super key is the "command' equivalent. But is works fine. Even the sleep, volume and media keys work
