Does it come with toner or do I have to order cartridge as extra?

Yes it does come with a toner starter cartridge.
So far I have gone through a ream and half and printing still looks good.

Is a starter toner cartridge included with this printer?

Yes, a starter cartridge is included, although it is the usual "starter" cartridge (smaller capacity than a regular one). It's shipped inside the unit, in the location where the cartridge is normLly installed (when we got ours, I was expecting the cartridge to be in a separate box, and initially thought that the printer did not come with one).  You do have to pull it out and remove the various bits of protective tape before use, though.

Does this have ePrint and is it compatible with printing from Apple devices?

We haven't been using it with the eprint function, but I think it has it. This auto-form won't let me include links to other sites, but if you google the product name and number and the word "manual", you should get a page that has the pdf of the manual for the machine which tells you specifically what it can do. how to set up scan option?

All you need to do is to install the bundled software according to the instruction on the manual.  The printer comes with two separate CDs. One of the CD is the driver and some applications for the printer. The other CD is the Scanning software. You may choose not to install the scanning software if you intend to use the scanning application embedded in Windows 7 or Windows 8.  That is it.

Does lid lift to copy book pages or bulkier document?

It is not good to copy books. That's the reason why we bought it. The clips in the back are plastic and they pop off when you put books in it and close the lid.

Yes, it can be connected to any wireless ap or ever hard wired for printing only.
In order to use the scanner it most be connected via USB.
