When faxing, does the HP M127fn immediately print out a 'transmittal report' showing that the fax transmission was successful or not? Thank you. bb

It does.  The Fax Confirmation sheet includes the following

Name and number of sender - date and time

Job#, Date, Time, Type (send/receive) ID, Duration, Pages, and result.

On one of the two faxes I have sent so far the sheet also contains a small image of the faxed document.

I just bought this printer today to replace my aging m1212. The scanning is painfully slow, 100 dpi black and white to pdf. Is this what I can expect from a sub $200 multi function or is there some way to speed this thing up?

The scanner is pretty slow, i have not found a way to speed it up. However, I am satisfied with the overall quality and regular printing speed of this printer. I have had mine for 2 years.

Yes it supports Apple AirPrint but you must have Wi-Fi configured as the network connection.  If your wired and Wi-Fi device connections are on the same network you will need to only configure Wi-Fi on the printer.  It does not support both wired and wireless at the same time.

Double sided printing is manual.   Once the first side is printed, remove the paper and place it back into the paper tray, and then press print and it will print the second side...
