Does it come with ink?

The p11o2w comes with toner (starter toner) which should yield appprox 700 copies depending on how you use the printer ,gray scale will save toner, I purchased 3 of these printers and I bought Rosewell toner for approx 39.00 dollars.

This is a monochrome laser printer, meaning it only prints black, one color.  No scanning capabilities.

Mine came with a cartridge and I've been buying off brand cartridges since then and they're easy to remove and install.

my computer does not have wifi or wireless link , can I use the USB connector?

Yes. works great on windows xp with the usb connector. im sure it will work on all windows systems. most likely mac ad well.

I have bought 4 of these and each one came with toner, though I don't know if it was a full sized one filled full.  I 'think' so but can't be positive.

Yes, the Printer comes with an 85A toner already inside the printer (with the plastic guard to be removed before first use)

Does this printer have the ability to scan a document ? What is the weight of this printer? Are all components for out of the box printing included? If so, what are they.  Would this work for a "portable office" situation using a laptop?

Hi Janice. 
This printer does not scan.
I would estimate it's weight to be about 10-12 lbs.
Everything you need is in the box. Printer, power cable, and a USB cable (plus documentation). In my case the USB cable was too short for my setup, so I had to use a longer one I had on hand.
In my view, the printer is too big/bulky to be practical for a portable office situation. You could use it, but it would be awkward. It can be set up to print wirelessly though, so it should work well in a small office situation.

A good printer for the money, just not very feature rich. It's perfect for me as I'm the only one using it, and I don't do much other than document printing. It's worked flawlessly from day 1, and I would recommend it to anyone as long as they were aware of it's limitations.

Can I print color on this? I'm also guessing there is no ink cartridge needed?

This is a black and white printer only. It uses ink toner (which is much more efficient and longer lasting.) The model used is 85A Black Laserjet that prints for an average of 1600 pages per cartridge (maybe a little more if you shake it a bit when it starts to have white lines.) Hope that helps.

Yes, it comes with a toner.  You will want to order one right away because the toner printers come with are not usually really full and don't last as long as a full high yield toner cartridge.

I am not a Win 8 user...yet. But, I can tell you, that it works flawlessly with Win 7.  I have 2 of them, the replaced older HP1012 printers that were not Win 7 or Win 8 compatible.
