does this monitor have speaker?

Yes, this display has built in speakers within those dark panels on both sides. They are Bang & Olufsen, and produce sound, but depending on what kind of sound you are looking for they may not be enough. I honestly only use them for minor sounds like computer notifications, and for video and quality music I switch to a more powerful external speaker for better sound. Hope that helps, cheers.

What was the release date of this model?

I checked the HP website and the only thing I could think of was to look at the first publish date of the user manual which happens to be 2014 with a second edition in 2015. My best guess is 2014-2015-ish. Hope that helps.
