Does this PC have any open PCI or PCI-e slots?

Yes (actually one of the reasons I purchased this unit).  Expansion Slots:  One PCI Express x16 (Gen 3.0),  Three PCI Express x1 (Gen 2.0), and One PCI Express mini card.

All the detailed product specifications for the HP Pavilion 500-314 are located on the HP support site (support-dot-hp-dot-com).  Search for "c04293928" which will be the product specifications document for this PC.

And, for Newegg:  why can we not put a URL into these comments when it helps sell the actual product?  Seems like more information will make more informed purchasers IMVHO.

Ram is 8gb DDR3 as listed in the description. One stick of 8gb, not 2 sticks of 4gb.

Does this computer come with the free upgrade to windows 10 as stated in reviews?

Hi Robert,
I could not find anything specifically in the box when the PC arrived so I am hoping that when I registered the PC with HP that they will notify me when the upgrade is available. So once I see that MS has released Win 10 I will be contacting HP. This is a very good PC for the price and as a re-furb mine looks brand new.

In my unit, it came with (1) one  8GB DDR3 ram unit.   It did not come with 2 two 4GB DDR3 ram units,

It does not come with any recovery media, but you can make a recovery set through HP Support Assistant.
