Pros: - Newegg's Shipping was much faster than expected. - Bluetooth works out of the box and is easy to use (with Window's Bluetooth config) - Feels very solid. Lots of metal. - No problems with Vista. Hardware all works perfectly. Aero works fine. - Runs cool and quiet. You can feel where the video card is, but it's like a hand warmer. Not at all uncomfortable. The BIOS has an option that says "Always run fan" which is turned on by default. I left it on because the fan is barely noticable. - Has a full keyboard. I wasn't aware of this but it's nice. - Comes with a remote that goes in the card slot. It's one of those little things that I always like about HP laptops. - The built in webcam is surprisingly good. I don't know how it compares to fancy new webcams, but it's better than the one I had for my desktop ($50 brand name, ~2 years old). - Energy Star certified apparently.
Cons: - Keyboard takes some getting used to. The delete key is badly placed. - Comes with Vista. I'll leave another review if I manage to get Linux or Windows XP running on it. - Comes with lots of junk pre-installed. I pretty much expect this from HP at this point, but it would be nice if they at least included an OS CD so I could reformat easily.
Overall Review: I got this to replace a laptop that had motherboard problems, but I didn't really like it anyway. This is the laptop I should've bought when I got my first one. If you ever plan to use Bluetooth, I definitely recommend getting a laptop with it built in. Carrying around a bluetooth adapter is a huge pain. The main reason I bought this from Newegg is that I wanted it to be sent quickly, and Newegg didn't disappoint. I got my package about 2 days earlier than I expected.
