Is this printer compatible with Windows 7?

Great printer cheap efficent i have two of these hooked up to computers running Vista, 7, and windows 8 using wifi i have not tried using the usb but there is that option if you dont have a wifi network or router. There are higher quality printers, but it works great for what i need. Printed 500 wedding announcements for my wedding and not a problem. Would recommend for casual use. Does a good job high qaulity pictures. Hp software is really great can print from my phone anywhere. Lots of fetures.

Question 2

Will the printer work as a network printer with out being attached to a desktop?  Looking for family to be able to print without my computer being on.  My current printer has no network capabilities.

Yes, this printer will work without being attached to a desktop. I added my printer (I have a 6510 and a 6520) to my home network (I have a Rosewill wireless router). The printer control panel allows you to enter your router i.p. address, network name, and password. All the devices on my network(pc's, tablets, and phones) can access the printer wirelessly.

Does this include any printer cartridges?

It has been a long time since I purchased this but I typically purchase cartridges at the same time.  My guess is that since it does not specify any, it is safe to assume there are none, or if there are, they may have smaller capacity so you would want to purchase spares anyway.

Can It print on standard copier paper?

It has printed just fine for me on what I think of as copier paper, the cheapest white paper you can find at stores that sell paper.  Like any other printer it drinks the toner, so I set it to print black and white.

Does this work with windows 8?

I think it will. I have hooked up to windows 7 and have not had a problem. How ever you can check with Microsoft and they can tell you for sure. It's a great printer and it comes with install disc that takes you to a online install program.

It uses HP 564 cartridges and they cost as low as $13.81 for the standard black and $11.88 each for the Cyan, Magenta, and yellow cartridges, or you can buy a 3 pack for $26.99. These prices are from neweggs site and will very depending on where you buy them.

I found it easy to hook up, I am not a computer whiz by any stretch of the imagination, I just followed the steps , it was not difficult.

As for ease of use, I find it very user friendly, easy to change the cartridges, and add paper. Also a snap to clear if you have a paper jam. Although, I have only had two, no doubt the result of my haste in adding paper. I do a great deal of printing, have found this printer to be very reliable.

Does this product fax with a regular phone dial up? As well as receice faxes from a phone number?

the long and short is no. this will do what they call efax, which requires you to sign up for a service(which usually cost money) and faxing is done over the internet.
